Pasquale Cataldi

Pasquale Cataldi 

Pasquale is passionate about connectivity and an advocate of efficient spectrum use. He encourages the development of innovative technologies, business models and regulatory approaches that can increase the potential of wireless for the economy and society.

As a Vice President of Spectrum Management at Nominet, he was responsible for Nominet’s wireless connectivity services. In particular, he led the research and commercialisation of a cloud-based spectrum management platform which included the TV white spaces databases operating commercially in the UK (approved by Ofcom in 2015) and the USA (approved by the FCC in 2018) and supported various trials around the world such as in Mozambique (TV white spaces, 2018).

Prior to Nominet, he worked as a research engineer at Sky UK, and has also worked in academia at UCLA, California, and at Eurecom, France.

Pasquale has a PhD in Electronics and Communications from the Polytechnic University of Turin, Italy, and is a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Manager. He has authored several academic publications and has contributed to communication industry standards such as Weightless-N.
